King & Whittredge deliver top quality cuts in the “Blues guitar and harmonica” format evoking the sounds of the traditional delta blues while ramping up to a crescendo of swinging Chicago blues in the style of Sonny Terry and Brownie Magee. The Real Deal is a down-home blues recorded in a single performance, live in studio, with no edits just like the groups of the 40’s and 50’s. The songs are free and vary in style, taking the listener from the bayou of New Orleans through the Delta to the Chicago blues sounds.
David King has been a popular artist on the Dublin blues scene since the release of his first album Ruirteach Blues (2015). He invited blues “harp” player David Whittredge to create an album of original material after performing numerous gigs together in Ireland.
Whittredge, originally from Boston, Massachusetts, moved to Ireland in 2011 where he resumed his love of harmonica and the blues
